Aoba has a sort of unique ability called Scrap that allows him to tap into the consciousness of the people around him by using his voice. There are three "main" ways that Aoba uses his power, so let me know how many (if any at all) are okay to use on your character.

1. Interest and influence. By dropping his voice to a lower tone Aoba can encourage characters to do what he wants. When he talks in a certain way people feel inexplicably attracted to his voice, and find themselves a lot more inclined to listen to his requests and suggestions.

2. Commands. When he gets riled up enough Aoba can make outright demands that people are forced to follow against their own will if he uses his power right. For example when he yells at someone not to move, they are literally unable to move their legs forward.

3. Entering people's minds. ... I mean that sentence pretty much covers it! Aoba has the ability to combine his consciousness with another person's and enter their minds. If something is wrong, say they're being controlled by someone else, Aoba has the ability to pull a person back to themselves and save them. The tricky part is if he says or does the wrong thing while in this state of shared consciousness he can shatter a person's mind completely.

Meliantha's sword makes her immune to all forms of mind control as long as it's within 30 yards of her. There's been a bunch of times I've had her with out it, just to balance that out (they'd freak in the hospital, for example, and at parties). It also is in constant psychic contact with her, so the first one may have a counter in that even if Chainbreaker isn't right there, but it's not a perfect one.
